To coincide with the start of the second year of my professional doctorate I’m going to officially launch this new blog on  November 1st 2021.

I’ve re-thought and re-designed what I am doing for my ProfDoc over the last year, and when I look at my folder of essays it looks like I’ve already written 100,000 words, but with many of the essays I had to check who was the author, which was me, but I could not recall writing them, hence this blog: a way of remembering.

I’ll be making a lot of photography during for the research, which is about community and community resilience, and posting it on this blog, and on Flickr, which I am using as a visual repository. I took the above photograph at last week’s BOP21 and shows Simon Roberts buying a book at the Photoclub stand. BOP21 was a collaboration between the Royal Photographic Society and the Martin Parr Foundations. I enjoyed a couple of days there, and chaired the very first RPS Photo Book Genre assessments on the Friday.
